· IEC 60296 (2012): Table 2, transformer oils (I) (inhibited oils) Section 7.1 ("High oxidation stability & low sulfur content")
· Sulfur content is below 1 ppm and thus below the detection limit of ASTM D5185.
Fulfills the requirements of the Canadian specification CAN / CSA-C50-14, Table 1, Class A, Type II (inhibited)

· Protection of the transformer
Shell Diala S5 BD is made from sulfur-free * base oils, which makes it non-corrosive to copper, even without the addition of passivators. Shell Diala S5 BD meets all relevant copper corrosion tests, such as DIN 51353 (silver streak test), IEC 62535 and ASTM D1275B. * Sulfur content is below 1 ppm and thus below the detection limit of ASTM D5185.

· Easily biodegradable in accordance with OECD 301B Shell Diala S5 BD was specially developed for use in power and distribution transformers when environmental issues have top priority.

· Extended oil life
Shell Diala S5 BD is a fully inhibited insulating oil that offers excellent oxidation stability and extended oil life. It is particularly suitable for use in applications that work under high loads.

· Low water content
Shell Diala S5 BD is manufactured and dried using a special process in order to obtain a low water content and a high breakdown voltage upon delivery. This enables the use in many applications without an additional "drying".

Shell Diala S5 BD is made from sulfur-free base oils, which are produced with Shell GTL (gas to liquids) technology. These base oils are characterized by a uniform molecular structure and excellent antioxidant responsiveness. In addition, they are free from PCB, DBDS and passivators.

· Storage precautions
The important dielectric properties of Shell Diala can easily be affected by contamination. Possible typical contaminants are moisture, dust and other particles or surface-active substances. It is therefore imperative that insulating oils remain free from contamination and moisture. It is recommended that the storage containers are used exclusively for insulating oils and are hermetically sealed. In addition, we recommend storing insulating oils in closed rooms, free of climatic differences.
