Use as brake fluid in motor vehicles and industry (also as hydraulic fluid),
Brake fluid for hydraulic brake and clutch systems with a boiling point of at least 265 degrees C and a wet boiling point of at least 180 degrees C,
Due to the low low-temperature viscosity, particularly suitable for additional units such as ABS, ASR and ESP/DSC, Hydraulan 406 ESI is formulated on the basis of glycol ethers and their boric acid esters, Hydraulan 406 ESI contains effective corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants and lubricity additives.
HYDRAULAN® 406 ESI is highly suitable for all levels of autonomous driving and comes as BASF's response to further elevate the safety of vehicles in the future.
This innovation is also available as HYDRAULAN 406 ESI BMB solution, where fossil raw materials are replaced by bio-based raw materials at the beginning of the value chain according to a mass balance approach.

Hydraulan 406 ESI ensures that natural rubber (NR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and EPDM rubber swell in accordance with the specifications.
Handling
Brake fluid is hygroscopic and must be stored in tightly sealed containers. After removing the fluid, the containers must be closed again immediately.
Storage stability
Hydraulan 406 ESI has a shelf life of at least five years when stored properly in original sealed containers at temperatures of no more than 40°C.
